Around the World…I Took the Long Way Home.

Towards the end of 2016, I was the worst version of myself. I thought leaving home, Los Angeles, specifically a little bubble referred to as the South Bay, was the answer to my problems. Boy, was I wrong!

I spent 8.5 years going around the world, but I finally made it home, in what I deem the best version of myself. Not physically, because shit, getting old really does suck balls! But I found peace. That’s the easiest way for me to describe the difference between the worst and best versions of myself. I’m at peace. What can I say? I took the long way home! Well, as close to home as I can get, and feel safe and comfortable, Orange County.

I’m blessed to have come home to a small circle of friends and family that never judges me, even at my worst. They welcomed me back with open arms and no judgment. They support me in all my crazy life pivots. I mean, do people really think I don’t realize how nuts it was to return to acting and writing later in life? Or to take off to various countries alone and stay for months? Or any of my millions of other whims? But I didn’t get a childhood, or even my teen years, in a traditional sense. So, I’m finishing life my way.

Sadly, but expectedly, I learned I can’t hop back into what I call good-time friendships, for lack of a better term. And that’s okay, because not everyone is destined to be in your life for a long time; they are only there for a good time. They simply turn into friendly acquaintances, and you wish them the best.
