On Location at Brookledge - What a Treat!

One of my favorite perks of shooting on location in California is discovering hidden gems I never knew existed. I grew up in LA, and I do know many natives’ only spots, but that’s the beauty of LA being so vast, there are always new places to discover. A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of shooting a commercial on location in Los Angeles. Turns out we were filming at Brookledge, the Larsen family’s semi-private home theatre, before they opened The Magic Castle in 1963. Unfortunately, I could not take any pictures due to the contract and NDA I signed. But that’s okay, I prefer to enjoy the moment and take in my surroundings. The commercial was recently released, and you can see the old Hollywood ambiance. I love that era! The Magic Castle is a Los Angeles staple; to visit its predecessor and know that many of the Hollywood greats sat in the same theatre was a treat!
